About Got Vents
Got Vents is an independent buying-guide site about under-cabinet and ductless range hoods.
We write for homeowners who are replacing a tired hood, finishing a kitchen or cooking in a condo or older house with no duct to the outside. Our aim is simple: help you pick a hood that fits the space, clears the cooking air you make and doesn't roar while it does it.
What we cover
Our guides cover hoods that mount under a wall cabinet, in 30 and 36 inch widths, from brands like Broan-NuTone, COSMO, Hauslane, CIARRA and COMFEE'. We sort them by width, fan power (CFM), noise (sones), height, color and whether they vent outside or recirculate.
We also answer the questions that come up before and after you buy, like how high to hang a hood, how to clean a greasy filter and whether a ductless hood is worth it.
How we work
We read the specs, manuals and each maker's own information for every hood we cover. We also look at what owners often report after a few months of cooking under one.
